Paving a new path for parents, one community at a time.
About us
For Mom's Sake is a pioneering initiative dedicated to reshaping the future for parents returning to work after having a baby in America. In a country known for its wealth, it is striking that the United States does not offer paid parental leave on a federal level. This leaves over 100 million Americans returning to work just 10 weeks postpartum or post-adoption, often feeling drained and unprepared to balance professional responsibilities with the demands of a growing family.
Our founder's personal experience highlighted the urgent need for change. Feeling overwhelmed and not ready to transition back to leadership after childbirth, the vision for For Mom's Sake was born. As one of the largest employers in Georgia, Piedmont has a unique opportunity to lead this change.
For Mom's Sake aims to gain executive approval to pilot a comprehensive parental leave program at Piedmont. This program will offer employer-funded leave extending beyond 12 weeks for both birthing and non-birthing parents. Understanding the diverse needs of new parents, the program provides flexibility by leveraging PRN employees to cover shifts for those dealing with appointments, illnesses, or sleepless nights.
Additionally, we recognize the importance of addressing common struggles new parents face, from breastfeeding challenges to postpartum anxiety and depression. Our program will offer resources and support to help navigate these issues.
By partnering with other healthcare organizations across Georgia and beyond, For Mom's Sake strives to drive meaningful change for our employees and communities. Our mission is to create a supportive environment where parents can thrive both at home and in their careers.
